As a Man Thinketh
As a Man Thinketh is one of the all-time bestselling and most widely read works in the new thought movement. Read the book that inspired The Secret with powerful quotes such as: "As the physically weak man can make himself strong by careful and patient training, so the man of weak thoughts can make them strong by exercising himself in right thinking." "A man is literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all his thoughts." "Right thinking begins with the words we say to ourselves." "Every action and feeling is preceded by a thought." "The soul attracts that which it secretly harbors, that which it loves, and also that which it fears. It reaches the height of its cherished aspirations. It falls to the level of its unchastened desires - and circumstances are the means by which the soul receives its own." "Men do not attract what they want, but what they are."

How to Make the Stock Market Make Money for You
Ted Warren (1903-1987) understood the stock and commodity markets like no one else. He was a common laborer with a sixth-grade education who became independently wealthy after discovering a powerful trading secret that foretells major price moves. Now that he's made a fortune from the market, he wants to show you how he did it.
Let Ted Warren show you the basic pattern to which all stocks react -- a pattern that repeats itself over and over like history. Let him explain in his own simple language the psychology behind stock price movements that will let you join the profit bandwagons inspired bu the big "insiders."

A Better Way To Make Money
This book was originally written in the late 1930s by a well-known market commentator. Pugh believed erroneously that neither the 1929 market high nor the 1932 market low would ever be broken. He maintained that trading success could be attained by buying in a zone close to the asymptotic low and selling in the zone close to the asymptotic high. His main, "zone trading" method would have worked reasonably well until the Dow surpassed its 1929 top in the early 1950s. After that, the method, as it stands, is an unmitigated money loser. However, with a bit of updating, the philosophy presented in this work can be profitably employed. I have long used a method similar to Pugh's which is useful in assessing market temperature for indexes, individual stocks, and futures.

Walking a Sacred Path
This is a meditational account of the rediscovery of an ancient meditational technique, the labyrinth, a "spiritual tool" that predates Christianity and was widely used in Christian spirituality until the sixteenth century. Artress, canon of Grace Episcopal Cathedral in San Francisco, combines an interesting historical account of the labyrinth and its inclusion in medieval cathedrals--particularly the one at Chartres--with a devotional account of its re-creation and use at Grace Cathedral and elsewhere. The book--which is full of suggestive possibilities, from the transformation of tourists into pilgrims to the reclamation and celebration of sacred space--is an intriguing mixture of New Age spirituality and traditional Christian mysticism that will appeal to a broad range of spiritual seekers, mystics, and students of mysticism.

A Rich Man's Secret®
Victor Truman has spent years reading self-help books and swallowing megavitamins, only to end up impoverished in spirit and wallet. His life changes when he comes across a grave in a woodland cemetery where Clement Watt, an industrialist who helped spiritual "orphans" find themselves, lies buried.
Here's the "story behind the story" in financial educator and self-made millionaire Ken Roberts' amazing first novel, A Rich Man's Secret. In this thinly veiled autobiographical account, Ken relates how he "accidentally" discovered an astonishing old manuscript that soon turned his life into a rags-to-riches story. Ken believes that the long-hidden secret he discovered in this old manuscript holds the key to his entire success.
And the beauty is: It's so simple.
"It has nothing to do with religion, positive thinking, counseling, rebirthing, meditating, visualization, concentration, therapy, reprogramming your subconscious mind, hypnosis, or anything weird or way-out," Ken says. "It's as practical as can be, but no one ever explained it to you like this before." This is the book you've been wanting to read all your life! One book that will teach you the underlying secret to success in all areas of your life.

Talking to an Audience
Not For Sale! (Better yet, it's FREE! Call a Club Coach for details.)
How to Choose a Subject, Do Research, Prepare Material, Rehearse Your Talk, Make Appropriate Gestures, Use Proper Elocution; also How Long to Speak, How to Hold Your Audience, Make Yourself Likable, Gain Self-Confidence
“For talking to an audience is like speaking to a group of friends.”
“Remember, when you take charge, you are in charge.”
Vernon Howard (1918 – 1992) was a prolific author and spiritual teacher. He wrote over 40 books, including his famous (and powerful!) little booklets (which he said were more difficult to write than full-length books because one has to be so much more succinct). Several of his books attained best-seller status; and in all, millions of his books have sold. Mr. Howard also gave thousands of talks during his career, many of which I attended.
What’s not well-known is that before writing spiritual books for adults, Mr. Howard wrote many children’s books, and any author will tell you that these are the most difficult of all to write!
In my opinion, his TALKING TO AN AUDIENCE (first published in 1963) is the best of the best because it addresses head-on perhaps the most important and difficult topic of all – people’s universal #1 fear! But when you learn to talk in front of a group of people, your life does a 180 turnabout – it’s magical! This book is far superior to any university text or mainstream book on the subject because it’s so insightful, clear, concise, simple, succinct, and potent.
I received special permission from the original publisher, Sterling Publishing in New York City, to reprint TALKING TO AN AUDIENCE and bring it to light – and to you! – again. This is a powerful little book you’ll wear out using!

Your Body's Many Cries for Water
As a result of extensive research into the role of water in the body, the author, a medical doctor, believes that he has found chronic dehydration to be the cause of many conditions including asthma, allergies, arthritis, angina, migraine headaches, hypertension, raised cholesterol, chronic fatigue syndrome, multiple sclerosis, depression, and diabetes in the elderly.
According to Dr. Batmanghelidj, the body possesses many different thirst signals. A dry mouth is not a reliable indicator of your body's water needs. He describes a variety of more reliable ones, and helps you learn to understand when your body is calling for water. In this way, he claims you can prevent, treat, and cure a variety of conditions of ill health, at no cost, with what he calls nature's miracle medicine: Water. The author explains how much water one needs to drink a day to stay healthy, and why tea, coffee, and sodas are not good substitutes for water.

If you read Ken Roberts' novel "A Rich Man's Secret" you know that Clement Watt is the "rich man" whose "secret" is the central mystery of the story. Near the end of the story a wise old woman named Minnie states that Clement "published a little book he made sure every one of his hundreds of employees received. He called it 'Something You Should Know.'" This is that "little book."

The Hollywood Principle
Watching popular films with a critical eye for valuable lessons can help viewers solve problems and reach personal goals, according to Roberts, a film enthusiast, and Covino, a film expert and cinema professor. Citing some 300 popular films, the authors discuss movie characters in terms of what we can learn by analyzing their experiences. The determination of Rocky Balboa (played by Sylvester Stallone) in Rocky teaches us, for example, that we can be winners despite overwhelming odds. Guidelines on how to watch this type of movie in order to catch subtle messages conveyed through tone, setting, direction, etc., and hypothetical problems and possible solutions are also included. This title will attract only those who might consider watching a popular film an opportunity to improve their lives.

Outwitting The Devil
Hidden Treasure finally brought to light after 70 years!
Napoleon Hill, author of Think and Grow Rich --- the best selling success book of all time --- has been one of my heroes (and likely one of yours too) ever since I first discovered his writings in my late teens.
“Fear is the tool of a man-made devil.” --- Napoleon Hill
In 1938, just after publication of his all-time best-seller Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill reveals that he broke the Devil’s Code, forcing him to confess his secrets. The resulting manuscript --- Outwitting the Devil --- proved so controversial, it was hidden for more than 70 years. Now, the Napoleon Hill Foundation brings this important book to light, annotating and editing it for a contemporary audience. Using his legendary ability to get to the root of human potential, Hill digs deep to identify the greatest obstacles we face in realizing our personal Dreams---including fear, procrastination, anger, and jealousy---as tools orchestrated by the Devil himself. These hidden methods of control can lead us to ruin, and Hill reveals the seven principles of good that allow us to finally triumph over them and succeed. Fascinating, provocative, and empowering, Outwitting the Devil shows how to create your own path to success, harmony, and fulfillment in an age of uncertainty and fear.

How To Deal With Back Pain & Rheumatoid Joint Pain
Dr. Batmanghelidj received his formal medical education at St. Mary's Hospital Medical School of London University. He provides for the layman a clear and comprehensive book on the origins of chronic pain. His clinical and scientific research exposes, for the first time, that recurring "chronic pains" are a signal system of the body indicating severe general or local dehydration. Most of these pains can be relieved simply by drinking water. Instead, however, the patient often receives costly pharmaceutical medications which treat rather than cure. In this book, back pain and rheumatoid joint pain as indicators of local chronic dehydration are explained. The mechanisms involving the important role of water in holding the spinal column together are discussed.
Based on years of detailed study of the human anatomy and the science of physiology, Dr. Batmanghelidj has devised a new exercise approach for the successful hydration of the disc core, the retraction of the displaced discs, and immediate relief of pain, even sciatica. These exercises are clearly explained and demonstrated, and may be the only way to save yourself from the surgeon's knife. This book is unlike any other "how-to" book on the market. It is an instructive presentation about the very simple way of finding comfort and relief from two of the most commonly occurring pains of the body low back pain and rheumatoid joint pain.

The New Market Wizards
In these absorbing interviews with star performers in the financial markets, Schwager ( Market Wizards ) humanizes the mechanics and psychology behind billion-dollar daily world trading in such sophisticated instruments as currencies, stock options, commodity futures, and mutual-fund accounts by individuals, investment firms and group-trading computerized "money machines." One trader focuses on market response to news events, another calculates mathematical probabilities--one even cocks an ear to the noise level on the exchange floor. All rank assiduous research, self-confidence, a specific plan and the courage to cut losses among essentials to success. Few consider their work gambling, but Schwager entertainingly argues that a successful trader needs many of the qualities of a good poker player. Though the subject matter is esoteric, there is much here to attract the general reader, and Schwager appends a "primer" of technical basics.

Power Vs Force: The Hidden Determinants of Human Behavior
The new science of Kinesiology ushered in a powerful diagnostic tool called "muscle testing". (Muscle testing is a simple procedure for testing strong/weak responses, such as that of an outstretched arm, in response to questioning). Despite the revolutionary nature of these discoveries, most people are willing to rationalize that something other than the "conscious mind" is at play, something whose function it is to oversee the well-being of the individual and manage the body's myriad complex subsystems. It could then be extrapolated that this benign functionality - "subconscious mind", "field" or whatever - would be willing to communicate with the "outside world" when matters regarding the well-being of its charge were concerned.
Dr. Hawkins, however, has taken a quantum leap with the idea of muscle testing. Rather than simply regarding the field or subconscious mind as the governing mechanism of the individual's body, he applied muscle testing in the context of traditional metaphysical paradigms stating that all things are connected, that all events, actions, thoughts and emotions are written into the unlimited Database of Consciousness, and that as participants in this universe, we all have access to that Database. Thus through muscle testing we have the ability to get the answer to any question we can formulate (except pertaining to the future, which has not yet been written into the record). The implications of this are staggering. Did aliens put a face on Mars? Is the government telling the truth about thus-and-such? We now have the means for direct knowledge.
Dr. Hawkins explores how "attractor" energies (mathematics from chaos theory) influence art, science, medicine and sports and examines the specific mechanisms leading to health and disease. He examines the quality of our institutions and discusses the nature of Consciousness and the path to Enlightenment. All concepts are presented with exceptional clarity and lucidity, without any sign of pedantry. Finally, as the title of the book suggests, one may attain a quantitative understanding of the difference between Power and Force. This book is an absolute must for anyone searching for a better understanding of "how reality works".

Johnny Appleseed: Man & Myth
"Please--no apple blossoms!" protests author Robert Price, speaking of his approach to the Johnny Appleseed story. For over a quarter century Mr. Price has followed the circuitous trail of the elusive folk hero. Says the author: "Perhaps my bent for the outdoors, travel, and music shows up in this book. John Chapman's story has only recently emerged from a cloud of popular sentimentalism to become a major national myth in which 'Johnny Appleseed' is a symbol of everything good associated with the development of the land. To show this evolution, I have tied his drama not just to history and folklore, but to American topography. Most of his trail I have trampled or driven over from Leominster, Mass., to Fort Wayne." After rural school teaching and country newspaper reporting in the Middle West, the author graduated from Denison University, took M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Ohio State University and is now professor of English at Otterbein College. Mr. Price has written John Chapman: A Bibliography of "Johnny Appleseed" in History, Literature and Folklore, and articles for the New England Quarterly and other magazines. The Library of Congress awarded him a grant-in-aid to complete the study for the present book.

Hot Commodities: How Anyone Can Invest Profitably in the World's Best Market
According to Jim Rogers, "commodities get no respect." Here are a few reasons why he thinks they should: they are easier to comprehend and study than stocks and behave more rationally since they are subject to the basic laws of supply and demand; they have outperformed many other investment options in recent years; it is foolish to ignore an entire sector of the marketplace; and a bull market is currently under way in commodities--a trend that Rogers expects to last for a least a decade longer. Further, Rogers believes that you cannot be a successful investor in stocks, bonds, or currencies without an understanding of commodities.
Hot Commodities: How Anyone Can Invest Profitably in the World's Best Market is designed to introduce the novice to the basics of investing in commodities as well as explain what they are and why they are important. In doing so, he shatters some myths about the relative risks of commodities, explains the relationship between the stock and commodities markets, and provides a succinct analysis and history of the global oil, gold, lead, sugar, and coffee markets. Rogers also offers practical advice and information for beginners, including the best resources, how to read the commodities reports in the newspaper or on television, the various ways to open an account, information on index funds (such as Rogers' own index fund that he started in 1998), mechanisms, terminology, and other vital details people must know before investing. Clearly written and entertaining, Hot Commodities offers a solid introduction to investments that many people, including financial advisors, fail to give the proper respect.

Truth vs Falsehood The Art of Spiritual Discernment
The exploration into the truth of man's activities is unique, intriguing, and provocative. From a new perspective, one quickly grasps the levels of truth expressed by the media, the arts, writers, painters, architecture, movies, TV, politics, and war, as well as academia and the greatest thinkers and philosophies through the ages and up to present-day science and advanced theories of the nature of the universe. Most importantly, the ego and its structure are revealed to facilitate the understanding of religious and spiritual truths expressed by the mystics and enlightened sages over the centuries. It becomes apparent why the human mind, unaided, has been intrinsically incapable of discerning truth from falsehood. A simple test is described that, in seconds, can solve riddles that have been irresolvable by mankind for centuries. This book delivers far more than it promises.

Transcending the Levels of Consciousness, The Stairway to Enlightenment
Transcending the Levels of Conciousness is the prolific author's latest book of Jan.2006. I fully agree with the first two reviewers. It has been described as a practical manual...yes but it's much more, covering a lot of territory. As it is focused on conciousness studies and personal growth, it will (happily) not be a source of controversy. Here Dr.Hawkins expands his insights, analogies and descriptions even more in this very useful companion to the previous books, yet it can stand alone...a wealth of information. Each chapter begins with an overview putting all in context. Seventeen aspects of conciousness are described, and even brain function research. And 29 tables are provided, including some Q&A, many more tips for students and also updated info about the muscle testing technique in Appendix C. Again Dr.Hawkins explains the unexplainable with his marvelous vocabulary, always very at home with the abstract & subjective experience, providing delightful and mind boggling concepts of creation, matter, space and time. Inspiring and user friendly.
