People often ask me "What's with the cowboy hat?"
And the simple answer is "I like cowboy hats!"
Every boy growing up in the '50s loved cowboys: The Lone Ranger, Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, and John Wayne were our heroes!
And then, of course, living in "the Wild West" (and especially Southern California, where all those great Western movies were actually filmed) made an authentic cowboy hat virtually a necessity. (John Wayne actually lived in Encino, California where I grew up. The big deal in our town was seeing him in person --- without his toupee! --- when the service let out at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church on Sundays!)
But my hat has a "secret" . . . .
I purchased it at Nudie's Rodeo Tailors in North Hollywood, California!
Nudie is likely THE most famous tailor of all time! He outfitted everyone: movie stars, television celebrities, musicians, kings, presidents, politicians, you name it!
So my "famous" cowboy hat isn't a Stetson (it's a Resistol), it's not a 100X BEAVER (it's only a XXX BEAVER), but it is made in Texas, and best of all --- it's a Nudie's!
